Variable speed pump replacement in Gilbert AZ

A customer in Gilbert Arizona reached out about a pool pump & motor replacement, because his pump was loud when it ran. It was clear upon inspection there was a lot of scale build up around the motor, and the equipment pad was wet below the pump, which is a clear sign the shaft seal had been leaking for some time.

When there is a leak in a pool system and air gets in the lines, it breaks the vacuum and the water in the pump rushes back toward the pool when the pump shuts off. The pump lost its prime and was running dry upon start up each day which caused the bearings to wear prematurely.

The pump was not originally installed with unions, so it could not be removed to repair the shaft seal. I installed the new pump with unions, so that type of repair can be done in the future without cutting the plumbing to get the pump out.
