Pop up heads repair in Gilbert Arizona

A home owner in Gilbert Arizona reached out over a green pool, and a pop up heads repair. There were multiple leaks at the 5 port water valve, which is the part of an in-ground cleaning system that controls the different cleaning zones of pop up heads in the pool.
When the pump ran, water sprayed out under pressure and was flooding the area on the side of the house. The home owner shut the pump off, which is what caused the pool to go green once the temperatures began to rise this summer.
The original water valve had been replaced several years ago, but the threaded pause switch inlet was cracked where the PVC nipple was threaded into it. The original installer did not use enough glue, and the base had leaks too. A PVC glue joint with too little glue can work for years before a noticeable leak appears. This water valve install failed years before it should have.
I did not replace the water valve with a valve that had a pause switch. To avoid this new valve cracking where you normally thread in a NPT PVC nipple, I chose one without a pause switch. and simply glued the pipe into the dome top of the valve. This valve wont crack like the old one and I used enough glue to be certain there will not be any leaks at the base.
This water valve will last 15 plus years.
